Exterior Real Estate Photography Tips for Stronger Curb Appeal
October 4, 2026 · 5 min read
The front exterior is often the first photo buyers see. Get it right and the rest of the gallery gets a look.
Timing
Check which way the house faces. Shoot when the sun lights the front, not when it is behind the house. Overcast days give even light but flat skies, which you can replace later.
Angles
Shoot straight-on for symmetrical homes and at a slight angle to show depth on others. Keep the camera level; tilting up makes the house look like it is falling backward. Step back and use 1× zoom rather than the ultra-wide when you can.
Prep the yard
Move cars, bins and hoses. Mow and edge the lawn. Open the garage only if it is tidy.
Finish it
ListingShot AI can retouch the sky and color, upgrade landscaping on a tired lawn, or create a twilight version. Each result keeps the house unchanged and is labeled clearly.
